gosh, I will be at mass or standing next to somebody. And they seem to treat prayer as a speedreading class. Maybe I just speak slowly, but wow they ramble so quickly like a sprinter, I almost cant even hear the prayer at all. I guess that is part of the fast food microwave/ I want it as fast possible culture we live in. But just pause, take a breath and pray and talk to someone. When you talk to a friend, I hope you dont talk as fast as you are able. Why would we talk to god, differently then we talk to our friends and family right in front of our faces?
And trust me, I took debate in high school, and yeah I had to learn how to read 15 pages in 7 minutes to setup an argument. But even then I thought it was ridiculous: it taught me to read quickly and write quickly, and listen very attentively. But in the closing arguments we always took time to emphasize the most important arguments or points in our case. Otherwise it is all just nonsense and nobody listening to the debate can really focus on the most important points being talked about.
